Follow our Progress on Second High School
Building a second high school is a complicated project. Our new school will ultimately serve 2,000 students with 405,000 square feet of space. This webpage is designed to keep our community updated on our progress in designing and constructing the new school. We'll post photos depicting our progress though the opening in fall 2009.
School Board names new high school
It's Chanhassen High School! That's the name the School Board has selected for the new school at Audubon and Lyman Blvd. The Board continued its past practice of naming schools for a geographic location. The action came last night at the Board's regular meeting and opens the way for a task force to begin the work on mascot and colors. The task force will include current Chaska High staff, parents and students. Their charge will be to create no fewer than two choices and no more than four choices for Chanhassen High's mascot and colors. The final choice will be made by a vote of current 8th and 9th graders. The process should be completed by March 22.

Design Team creating new secondary program model
The School Board has created a task force charged with recommending a redesign for the instructional program in grades 6-12. The new program design will reflect the Board's desire to prepare all students for post secondary success as well as its commitment to develop world class schools.
