Hooked on Books - February 6, 9 am - Noon, Chaska High School
The 5th annual Hooked on Books event is set for Saturday, February 6, 9 a.m. until noon at Chaska High School. It's free for the entire family - a morning filled with books, crafts, drama and fun!

This year's event features nationally acclaimed author Amy Krouse Rosenthal. She has published 11 picture books (with six forthcoming) for children including The New York Times bestseller Cookies: Bite Size Life Lessons, where big concept words are defined in a simple, but memorable way. Duck! Rabbit! is another favorite book in which a bunny's ears can be mistaken for a duck's bill and vice verse.

Other program highlights include: activities led by each elementary school, crafts for children preschool through grade 5, music and drama performances, book give-away, book vendors, and art exhibits and demonstrations.

The public is invited to meet the author at one of the Carver County Libraries before the Hooked on books event:
Thursday, February 4th
Chaska Library - 4 pm
Chanhassen Library - 6:30 pm

Sponsors include Target, Chanhassen Villager, Chaska Herald, Qdoba, Chaska Rotary, Fresh Seasons Market, Barnes and Noble, Ridgeview Medical Center, Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, Friends of the Chanhassen Library and Friends of the Chaska Library. This project was funded in part with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008, which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota's arts and cultural heritage.
